Transition Modeling Specialist

Your current home employer remains your employer during you are the period where you perform your contribution to the Center.

Thus, the employer obligations will remain with your home employer including payment of all compensation, salaries, remuneration and costs owed to you as an employee, as well as any social or employment related taxes and all associated costs and expenses.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a dedicated Transition Modeling Specialist to join our Transition Modelling & Analytics (TMA) Team at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. In this role, you will work closely with the team to understand and utilize our primary analytics tool, NavigaTE, to support our work. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about advanced simulation models and eager to contribute to analytics, tool development, and maritime sustainability. The preferred candidate will be allocated a minimum of 80% of their time to the Center for at least 12 months and take residence in Copenhagen during the secondment.

Chief Government, Business, and Analytics Officer > Head of Transition Modeling and Analytics > Secondee.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborate with the TMA team to effectively use NavigaTE for various analytical purposes including Center projects.
  • Help make NavigaTE open-source and approachable to a wider audience.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of NavigaTE by providing user feedback and proposing enhancements
  • Assist in training and onboarding new users to NavigaTE, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Effectively utilizes NavigaTE to support and enhance the Center's analytical capabilities
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of modeling and simulation, including its application to maritime decarbonization.
  • Contributes to tool development by actively participating in feedback and improvement processes
  • Supports and fosters a collaborative learning environment, sharing knowledge and helping to build team capacity.
 
CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCES NEEDED
 
  • Experience with advanced simulation models or analytical tools involving advanced mathematics and programming
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical developers and non-technical stakeholders
  • A proactive learner who is adaptable and ready to engage with advanced analytical tools
  • While knowledge of the shipping industry is not required, a strong interest in maritime sustainability is desirable
