Student Assistant – Finance

Who We Are

We’re a not-for-profit Center dedicated to decarbonizing the maritime industry. Our team unites experts from many fields – engineers, economists, analysts, software developers, and more – who share a passion for making a real difference. We’re based in Copenhagen but collaborate globally. We value collaboration, curiosity, and treating people (and the planet) right.

Who You Are

You are currently enrolled in a study programme. You have a sharp, analytical, and curious mind who is learning fast, and is asking the right questions. Maybe you’re studying economics, finance, or a similar – it doesn’t matter, as long as you’re comfortable with working structured and with a high level of detail. We care less about how far you are in your studies – what matters is your abilities and willingness to learn, and your interest in accounting, finance and controlling. You enjoy direct contact with your colleagues from across the organization and can manage to keep track of multiple tasks while ensuring timely delivery thereof. If that sounds like you, let’s talk.

What You’ll Do

You’ll join our Finance team and be supported by our Senior Controller. We tackle all tasks within accounting, finance, controlling and reporting – all in paperless workflows.

Specifically, you will do:

  • Travel expense management: You will control the accounting of the expenses, and ensure the documentation fulfill the requirements in the Danish bookkeeping act. You will also be responsible for following up on unsettled or incomplete expenses.
  • Time reporting: You will control that time reporting is done and follow up if missing.
  • Project specific tasks: You will be responsible for executing tasks regarding documentation related to externally funded projects when relevant
  • Ad hoc: If time allows and when required by the organization across (could be when we arrange bigger events).
  • Grow with mentorship: Work closely with and learn from our Senior Controller and develop your skills along the way.

Why Join Us

We aim for a supportive, friendly environment where collaboration thrives. We’re proud of our mission to guide one of the world’s hard-to-abate industries toward a greener future. You’ll have room to explore, learn, and do your best work – plus, we like to have fun along the way. You’ll join our network of student assistants and work flexible hours (around 10-15 per week) that respect your exam schedule. In the Finance team, you can develop your skills and knowledge within the areas of finance, accounting and controlling and work with well-known and widely used finance systems like Business Central for bookkeeping and Continia for expense handling. This job will provide you with practical, hands-on experience, build your skills and prepare you for a career in finance and accounting.
