Our mission is to drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions to achieve zero carbon shipping, protecting our planet's future while advancing the maritime industry. With a wide network of partners, we build confidence in new concepts and mature viable pathways to drive systemic change.

We value the diversity of our talent in all its forms, and we see diversity as a genuine source of strength for building high-performing teams and welcome international candidates who are willing to relocate to join our mission.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a strategic and passionate Public Affairs Manager to join our Energy & Fuels Impact Hub for a 1-year maternity cover, starting January 2026. This is your chance to work at the forefront of global climate action—driving policy, building partnerships, and influencing the energy transition in one of the most critical sectors of our time.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team advancing upstream innovation and sustainable fuel pathways, from biofuels to e-fuels and electrification. If you thrive in international policy environments, enjoy translating complexity into impact, and want to contribute to systemic change, we invite you to bring your voice, your expertise, and your drive to our mission.

What you’ll do

The Public Affairs Manager (maternity cover) in the Energy & Fuels Impact Hub plays a key role in advancing the Center’s efforts through strategic engagement, fostering stakeholder engagement and influencing policy discussions to drive the transition to zero-carbon shipping.

  • Monitor and analyze regulatory and policy developments at national, regional, and global levels that impact upstream energy and fuels, including development, production, and low-carbon fuel pathways. Provide timely insights and strategic recommendations to internal teams to inform the Center’s positioning and decision-making
  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies in cooperation with the Impact Hub leadership team to support the Center’s work on Sustainable Energy & Fuels at Scale and Green Corridors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, industry associations, and corporate partners.
  • Engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies to influence the development of policies that accelerate the deployment of sustainable upstream technologies and fuels, such as electricity, biofuels, and e-fuels
  • Represent the Center in policy discussions, industry forums, and stakeholder engagements to advocate for upstream innovation, emissions reduction, and investment in scalable low-carbon fuel solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including technical experts, communications, and strategy teams, to ensure public affairs efforts are aligned with the Center’s upstream energy and fuels objectives and the broader Center objectives.
  • Organize and participate in events, workshops, and meetings to promote the Center’s vision and objectives.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate is characterized by the following:

  • Proven track record in navigating in national and international policy environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders across sectors and cultures
  • Experience with analysis of policy and regulation
  • A results-oriented mindset, capable of translating technical issues and research and complex policy discussions into actionable outcomes
  • Insight and passion for policy, decarbonization and the energy and/or maritime sector and good network within the field
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • A university degree within a relevant discipline
