Student Assistant – Regulatory Affairs

Our not-for-profit and independent Center is a visible and significant driver of the global maritime decarbonization journey, and right now we are looking for a talented Student Assistant to join our Regulatory Affairs team in Copenhagen.

The Opportunity

The Regulatory Affairs team is deeply committed to drive decarbonization through regulatory reform. We are exposed to many areas of expertise in the center and collaborate across the teams to build robust regulations for the industry. Our new Student Assistant will report to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and become part of a great multi-cultural team with diverse professional backgrounds.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

Our new Student Assistant will be involved in many activities ranging from administrative tasks to analytical areas:

  • Supporting the team in analyzing regulatory texts related to maritime decarbonization
  • Developing briefs and presentation materials on regulations and legislative processes in the International Maritime Organization, the EU and various national contexts
  • Supporting the team in project management tasks
  • Contacting stakeholders and mediate between different teams in support of ongoing projects with other hubs and teams

Who are we looking for?

Minimum requirement:

  • Enrollment in a study program in the Copenhagen area, either on 3rd year Bachelor or 1st year Master studies, in Political Science, International Politics, Law, Business or any other relevant social science field

Ideally, you recognize yourself in most elements of the following description:

  • Solid understanding of the international political system, including the structures and functions of organizations such as the United Nations and the European Union and their influence on maritime regulation
  • Genuine interest in green transition, renewable fuels, shipping and international maritime law
  • Curiosity on technical topics and ability to clearly communicate complex information to both specialist and generalist audiences
  • Strong business insight, with the ability to understand and anticipate how regulatory developments impact organizational strategy and the broader maritime industry
  • Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken English
  • Great experience in MS - Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
  • International mindset and able to navigate in an international environment

Working hours are flexible, especially around examination periods, but we expect you to work approximately 15 hours per week.
