R&D Communications Specialist (Maternity Cover)

Our Center is a visible and significant driver of the global maritime decarbonization journey and we are now looking for a R&D Communications Specialist (Maternity Cover) to join our Communications team, to ensure that the knowledge that is produced in the Center is communicated effectively to stakeholders across the industry, and thereby play a vital role in accelerating the transition.

As a R&D Communication Specialist, you will work closely with project teams in regulation, business & economics, transition modeling, and public affairs to create high-quality, impactful reports, position papers, blueprints, and other communication products. You will be part of an amazing team of communication professionals reporting to our Chief Communication & Change Officer.

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

• Managing the overall publication pipeline for Center publication timelines and publication workflow within the communications team.
• Advising project managers on incorporating communications workflows and timelines into overall project timelines.
• Advising project managers on report content and structure.
• Copyediting reports written by Center employees and secondees.
• Providing feedback on how to improve reports to project teams.
• Writing and editing executive summaries and key messages.
• Writing reports and position papers based on the outputs of Center teams.
• Planning and writing blog content about our activities in regulation and analytics.
• Collaborating with the communications team on the graphical layout of reports, activation planning, and launch campaigns.
• Monitoring new publications from partners and other relevant bodies.

Preferred experience & qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you must combine an analytical mindset with a flair for written communication. Ideally, you recognize yourself in the following description:

• You have a master’s degree in communications, science, business, economics, or another related topic.
• You have at least three years of experience in business writing, regulatory writing, communications, or marketing from an agency, company, or newsroom.
• You have experience planning and managing content creation processes and are very good at planning time for yourself and others.
• Ideally, you have experience creating large reports, white papers, or other content with many stakeholders involved.
• You are logical and structured, with great project management skills.
• You connect easily with people and are comfortable talking to subject matter experts and asking questions if you do not understand a technical concept.
• Preferably, you are a native English speaker.
• Experience in decarbonization would be a plus.

The position is limited to a one-year contract starting August 1st 2023.

With Partners, the Center explores viable decarbonization pathways, facilitates the development and implementation of new energy technologies; builds confidence in new concepts and their supply chains; and accelerates the transition by defining and maturing viable strategic pathways to the required systemic change. The Center is placed in Copenhagen but works with partners globally.
