Analyst- Transition Modeling and Analytics

TERMS

Your current home employer remains your employer during you are the period where you perform your contribution to the Center.

Thus, the employer obligations will remain with your home employer including payment of all compensation, salaries, remuneration and costs owed to you as an employee, as well as any social or employment related taxes and all associated costs and expenses.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated Analyst to join our Transition Modelling & Analytics (TMA) Team at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. As a secondee, you will be an integral part of our team, applying your strong analytical skills to conduct meaningful, to-the-point techno-economic assessments. Leveraging our existing analytical tools and vast pool of assumptions, you will help quantify the cost of green corridors, evaluate the impact potential of new decarbonization technologies, and estimate the total cost of ownership of new vessels, among other key tasks. The preferred candidate will be allocated a minimum of 80% of their time to the Center for at least 12 months and take residence in Copenhagen during the secondment.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Conduct data-driven analysis utilizing tools such as Excel and in-house analytical software (e.g., NavigaTE).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify the most suitable tools and methodologies for various analytical tasks.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of simpler analytical tools, such as our publicly available Fuel Cost Calculator.

CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCES NEEDED
 
  • Strong analytical mindset with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with other analytical tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable way.
  • Strong collaborative skills and a team-oriented mindset, with an eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • While knowledge of the shipping industry is not required, a strong interest in maritime sustainability is desirable.
